Welcome to Open Sky Web Design

Affordable web design, programming, and site maintenance training for small businesses are our specialties. Our clients include membership organizations, non-profits, and individuals.

We can help you create your own site with the look and feel that you want and then set it up so it is easy for you to maintain yourself. Look through our Tools page, Portfolio, and Client Manual to learn more.

Dynamic content web sites are one of the types of sites we really like to create. These are sites which can be updated from a browser with little or no HTML knowledge. Blogs, Message boards, Event Calendars, RSS, Podcasting, and other interactive features are some of the standard capabilities of dynamic content sites. They can also include private membership areas with individual ids for logging in which can be created from an Excel list of names and email addresses. This site that you are on right now is a dynamic content site. Have a look at some of the PHP-nuke and JOOMLA sites in our portfolio to see some more.

We have written many custom and shareware Python scripts to do document conversions and other useful chores on a PC. We have created some PHP add-on modules for Joomla, CMS made simple, and Wordpress, as well as a javascript slideshow. Some of these are available in our downloads sections.

CMS made simple Ebook from PAKT publishing
PACKT Publishing looks to have done it again. I am reading their new book on CMS made simple and so far it is really excellent. A full review will be posted here soon.

How to add a Twitter search to your RSS reader
On the web version of twitter, scroll to the bottom of the page and click search. Try various searches. Use the minus sign to remove terms you do not want to see. for example:

Fort Collins -#ColoJobs

When you find one you want to have the RSS feed for, click the RSS symbol and put it in your reader (mine is my igoogle home page)
